Jawline Slimming and Teeth Grinding

Masseter treatment can be used for both aesthetic jawline refinement and to help manage symptoms associated with bruxism (teeth clenching and grinding).

Jawline Slimming

The masseter muscles sit at the back of the jaw and are responsible for powerful chewing movements. In some individuals, these muscles become enlarged or prominent, particularly with frequent clenching or grinding.

Reducing masseter muscle activity can gradually decrease muscle bulk, creating a softer, slimmer and more tapered appearance through the lower face. This can help enhance facial balance and create a more oval or heart-shaped facial contour where appropriate.

Clenching, Teeth Grinding & Jaw Tension

Bruxism is characterised by excessive clenching and grinding of the teeth. Over time, this can contribute to enlarged and overactive masseter muscles, as well as jaw tension, facial discomfort and headaches.

Masseter treatment can temporarily reduce muscle activity, which may help to decrease the intensity of clenching and grinding and relieve associated muscle tension and discomfort.

Treatment is not a replacement for dental assessment or management of underlying dental concerns, and we recommend working alongside your dentist where appropriate.

How Does Treatment Work?

After a comprehensive consultation to determine health history and suitability of treatment, assessment of facial anatomy and muscle activity we determine the appropriate area to treat to reduce muscle activity.

Your treatment will be tailored to your individual goals - whether your primary concern is facial slimming, muscle tension, teeth grinding, or a combination of both.

When Will I See Results?

Treatment begins to take effect gradually, with initial changes generally becoming noticeable within the first few days.

As muscle activity reduces and muscle bulk gradually changes, results become more apparent over the following weeks. Your results will be reviewed at a follow-up appointment, generally around 4 weeks after treatment.

How Long Do Results Last?

Results generally last approximately 3-6 months, although this varies between individuals depending on the treatment area, muscle activity and individual response.

With ongoing treatment, your Nurse can develop a maintenance plan based on your individual needs.
